Compare the sizes

Rough dimensions and honest capacities — every skip varies an inch or two, but this is what turns up on the wagon.

Heavy stuff note: rubble, soil and hardcore cap out at the 8-yarder — any bigger and the wagon cannae lift it safely (or legally). Level loads only, mind.

On-road hires

Skip going on the road?

Nae room on the drive? Nae bother. If your skip's sitting on a public road it needs a council permit — and we arrange the whole thing for you. It's a flat £35, usually granted in 1–2 working days, and every on-road hire comes with lights and cones included. Just tell us the street when you book and consider it handled.

Questions fae the yard

Sizing questions, answered straight

The four things folk ask Big Tam most, before he's even off the wagon.

How full can I fill my skip?

Level loads only — flush with the top rim, nothing poking above it. An overloaded skip can't be sheeted or lifted safely, and legally our driver has to leave the extra behind. If you're forever playing waste-Tetris, that's the sign you needed the next size up. When in doubt, ring us and we'll size you honestly.

What's banned from the skip?

The usual suspects: fridges and freezers, TVs and monitors, tyres, asbestos, gas bottles, wet paint, batteries and plasterboard mixed with general waste. Most of them we can still take separately for a wee extra charge — the full banned list (and what to do instead) is on our Services page.

Can I keep the skip longer than 14 days?

Aye, nae bother. Every hire includes 14 days as standard, and if the job's dragging on a quick call to the yard keeps it on-site for a small weekly charge. We'd always rather extend than turn up to a half-full skip — just gie us a shout before day 14 so we don't schedule the wagon.

How fast can you deliver?

Book before noon and most Stirlingshire postcodes get same-day delivery — our depot's just outside Stirling, so the wagon's never far away. Book later in the day and it'll be with you next morning, usually first drop. On-road hires take a day or two longer while the council stamps the permit.

Still no sure which size?

Describe the job — "ripping oot a bathroom", "clearing ma da's garage" — and we'll match you to the right skip in one phone call. Quotes back in minutes, delivery often the same day.
